Rest Revelations: A rest & write retreat for Black, Indigenous, Writers of Color
{Sound & Silence Edition}
October 4-6, 2024
Elohee Retreat Center in
Northeast Georgia USA
You have old narratives to lay to rest.
You have a new story to write and tell.
That story is an essential key to being free and living an authentic life. Rest is the most powerful portal to access the story line that is yours to follow because it is a quiet place to listen and receive your truth with clarity and courage.
Are you craving time to rest, dream, and write a new story, either on the page or within the narrative of your life?
Rest Revelations is a retreat for Black, Indigenous, people of color with words in their minds and hearts. Words that may have been hidden in survival, performance, masking, following others’ scripts, and narratives. Words that need to and want to be written. Words that need protected space to come forward. Words that need to be released and let go. Words that want to be captured, expanded, and expounded upon. Words that need you to rest so that they can finally awaken.

Founder & Creator
Octavia Faith Ann Raheem
Today I am a present wife, loving mother, and best selling + award winning author of three books: Pause, Rest, Be, Gather, and upcoming Rest is Sacred (November 2024). Today I am the Rest Coach to Visionary Black, Indigenous, People of Color in Leadership. Today I am a highly sought after speaker and teacher of restorative yoga & Yoga Nidra. Over a decade ago, I was tired, exhausted, and hanging on by less than a thread after suffering severe burn out that left me hospitalized. Devoted to Rest™ is the sacred curriculum that rose from the ashes of that burn out. I lead rest retreats that affirm that we can be well rested and still reach our greatest potential, abundantly thrive, positively impact our families, communities, and world.
Our retreat presenters are highly sought after artists, creative educators, healers, and activists
Charisse Williams
Charisse Williams is an ultralight beam! Yes, with an exclamation mark. She brings vibrant clarity, laughter, and ease into every room she steps into. As a certified leadership & well-being coach, author of the book The Joy of Thriving While Black , sought after speaker, leader, and certified yoga teacher, she brings joyful reflection, mindful movement, and the creative power to rewrite any narrative to Rest Revelations Retreat.
Shawn J. Moore
Shawn J Moore is an alchemist. He is earth, wind, water, and fire. As a sound therapist, he has the rare gift of creating an experience that is extraordinarily rooted, euphoric, and cosmic- all at the same time. He brings singing bowls that whisper lullabyes, ocean drums that wash away the residue from the grind and a strong+steady presence that calls your most weary parts to let go as you retreat.
Angelica Hairston
Angelica Hairston plays her harp and you hear angels sing. Celestial messages pour from her finger tips to your ears and you remember that this kind of beauty and space is your birthright. As a harpist, music educator, and activist Angelica brings songs of freedom, well seasoned soul, Beyonceholyhiphopgospel, unfiltered mastery of art, and easy elegance to Rest Rev Retreat.
B. Sokari Brown
B. Sokari Brown is a seer. She hears what you do not say and sees patterns unfold long before most do. An essential member of our retreat support team, Sokari is also a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner , Mindfulness-based Psychotherapist , Trauma-Informed Yoga & Meditation Teacher, and Abolitionist Healer. She brings a gentle yet fierce sense of organization, logistics, and operations to Rest Revelations Retreat.

All participants will be in a single room alone with a twin bed and shared bathroom or you have the option to choose a room with a king size bed and private bathroom.
Each cottage is equipped with air conditioning, heat, ceiling fans, and adjustable shades. Elohee’s founders created the headboards themselves, while close family created the artwork. Crisp, white comforters lay atop the beds for a cloud-like feel as thoughtful, minimalistic, decorative touches warm the space. Bamboo flooring completes the feel of this modern retreat space.
