Rachelle Knowles

I am a lover of yoga, student first, teacher second. My practice has taken me to many different places: powerful movement in hot yoga classes, stillness through meditation and deep dives into classical Hatha Yoga through the teachings of Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati. In 2012, I completed my initial training at Kashi Ashram Atlanta under the guidance of Swami Jaya Devi. I love to learn and have maintained continuous study with teachers I respect and cherish in Atlanta and beyond. In addition to teaching, I lead Cultivate Union, a community non-profit organization that promotes sustainability, equity and access in yoga.

My classes are a blend of all the things that have moved me over the course of my practice and I am dedicated to guiding yoga in a way that welcomes all people and all bodies. Studies of alignment based yoga, Ayurveda, trauma informed yoga, Yoga Nidra, prenatal yoga and sustainable activism have deeply informed my practice of teaching. My biggest ask will be that you stay curious from moment to moment as a way to explore deep presence.
