Meryl Arnett is certified by the Yoga Alliance as an Experienced Yoga Teacher at the 500-hour level (E-RYT500), and by the International Association of Yoga Therapists as a Certified Yoga Therapist (CYT). Meryl’s passion is introducing mindfulness in ways that are accessible to all of us. She co-owns Sacred Chill {West} with Octavia Raheem, and divides her teaching time among studio classes, private sessions and corporate offerings. Meryl grew her first yoga class offering to be consistently 40+ students, has guided meditations from the floor of Phillips Arena, at festivals across the city, and continues to teach to Fortune 500 companies. She created the podcast The Mindful Minute as a way to offer the teachings she holds most dear to the larger community, and she jokes that her superpower would have to be story-telling.

Many of Meryl’s teaching hours are devoted to incorporating yoga and meditation into substance abuse recovery through a partnership with Positive Impact Health Centers. She works alongside licensed therapists to better understand how to offer Trauma-Safe practices, and every year offers workshops and trainings for yoga teachers wanting to offer their skills within trauma sensitive environments.

Prior to her work within the yoga community, Meryl spent 8 years in marketing and public relations – skills that she uses to daily to grow her work as a yoga therapist and teacher. Meryl’s experience in both the corporate and freelance worlds have given her the tools needed to balance growth and mindfulness, creating confident footing along an ever-shifting path. Part animal spirit cards and part Excel spreadsheets, she delights in mentoring new teachers that are searching for their guiding intention, creating confidence in their offerings, and building a sustainable career.

Off the mat, Meryl is a mama, partner, podcaster and newbie gardener. She loves to spend time in the mountains with her family camping, hiking and marshmallow roasting. Constantly curious, Meryl loves to explore the intricacies of being human and all the ways we can discover more joy in our daily lives.
